Maxville Sauvignon Blanc 2018 (750 ml)
Tasting Notes For Maxville Sauvignon Blanc 2018
Our estate Sauvignon Blanc block was planted in 2001 to the Musque clone. This clone is known for producing outstanding, aromatic Sauvignon Blanc wine. We believe that the terroir of our Chiles Valley estate vineyard is ideally suited to produce wines of true distinction with this clone. Our vineyard is located east of the valley floor, nestled in the Vaca Mountains at an elevation of 900 to 1,200 feet. Due to this higher elevation, daytime and nighttime temperatures are cooler, producing Sauvignon Blanc with minerality, vibrant acidity and heightened aromatics.
The 2017 vintage further benefits from the use of three different fermentation methods – concrete “egg”, stainless steel and barrel fermentation in neutral French oak – creating layered complexity, richness and depth of flavor and finish.
