Description
Jean-Philippe Fichet Meursault 2019
- Jean-Philippe Fichet tests the limits of transparency to find the very soul of Meursault’s terroirs. Through a series of Meursault lieu-dits, he works to reveal the intense stoniness of the limestone-centric soils of this famed White Burgundy village.
- A tireless and devoted farmer, Fichet is often in the vines from dawn to dusk. Among his many distinctions is a belief in severe winter pruning rather than green harvesting.
- Fichet’s cellar is so spotless one could eat off the floor. It is in this cool, perfectly organized cellar that the wines go through a patient 18-month élevage, including 12 months in mostly used wood followed by 6 months in tank. With very little lees stirring, Fichet achieves focused, racy, and electric wines without artifice.
