Guillaume Selosse Largillier Extra Brut NV (2016)
Anselme Selosse’s son Guillaume has created two single vineyard cuvées.
Largillier is made from pinot noir grapes grown on Kimmeridgian soils, bought from his friend Jérôme Coessens in Côtes des Bar specifically because Guillaume wanted a new challenge to make a blanc de noirs champagne from different terroir.
Au Dessous De Gros Mont is from Guillaume’s own vineyard in the northeastern part of Cramant, Avize Grand Cru, just a few rows of old vines given to him by his grandmother for his 18th birthday.
“Anselme and Corinne’s son, Guillaume, has, since 2012, been preparing to follow in his father’s footsteps. During the time spent working side by side with his father, he has naturally been developing his own viticultural skills and inclinations which will most certainly lend a unique identity to the wines in the future. The transition and transmission in motion at the domain may be likened to a relay race where the athletes are handing off the baton; the baton of passion for wine, vines and fine food and drink.
