Gordia Slovenska Istra Malvazija 2021

Gordia winery is located in the Slovenska Istra region in Slovenia. “Gordia’ is an indigenous name for the area above Ankaran. Thousands of years of rich tradition, autochthonous varieties and soil of Slovenian Istria give our wines a unique taste and freshness. It stands at 80m above sea level with southern sun exposure. The soil consists of a richer marl medium-loaded with nutrients and is ideal for cultivating Refošk.

The winery has around 3.5 hectares of vineyards. They practice organic farming and have orange wines with low intervents. All wines are produced without the use of oenological products, they only use sulfur. All wines except for the sparkling wine are produced with native yeasts. Gordia is known primarily for longer macerated white wines, while reds are Cabernet Sauvignon, Refošk, Merlot, and Syraz.
