Burn Cottage ‘Moonlight Race’ Central Otago Pinot Noir 2021
From vintage 2021 Moonlight Race Pinot Noir comprises three sites that we farm ourselves: our estate vineyards Burn Cottage Vineyard in Lowburn, and Sauvage Vineyard in Bannockburn, along with the Luna vineyard in Bannockburn. The blend of these three special sites produces our vibrant expression of classic Central Otago with concentrated dark and red berry fruit flavours with a supple texture and fine tannins. Whilst it’s approachable now, there is cellaring potential of 7-8 years. (Bottled Under Screwcap).

- Sourced from Burn Cottage Vineyard in Lowburn, and the Sauvage Vineyard in Bannockburn, vine age ranges from 5-22 years
- Hand-harvested
- Fermented for around 17 days with indigenous yeast
- Aged for 12 months in French oak (Damy, Mercurey & Sylvain cooperages), 22% new
- Bottled unfiltered and unfined
- Moonlight Race is named after a channel of water that passes through the Burn Cottage property; one of the hundreds of “races” which were created during the early years of European immigration to bring water down from the mountains
