Description
Sylvain Bailly ‘Beaucharme’ Quincy 2022
- Domaine Bailly has been handed down through generations of vignerons since 1700. The estate covers 12 hectares and is spread over 23 separate parcels, mostly in and around the village of Bué with holdings in famed vineyards such as Chêne Marchand.
- The soils are made up of 60% chalky soils and 40% clay-based soils. This composition enables Bailly to grow Pinot Noir (25% of plantings) in clay soils and to split the Sauvignon vineyards between both the chalk and the clay-based parcels. Vinifications are separated by parcels with similar exposures, soil types and vine ages.
- The lineup of Bailly Sancerre is revered for its consistency, balance and excellent value. These are textured, charming Sancerres in a popular appellation where quality can vary greatly.
Some grass and intriguing melon in the nose is followed by a wine with good minerality, crisp acidity and just enough richness. Very refreshing and food friendly.
