Description
Kistler Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2020
This fragrant wine has notes of red fruit and oak, with soft tannins and a long finish.
Kistler focuses on two proprietary heritage selections of Pinot Noir both of which are characterized by low yields, tiny berries, deep color, inherent concentration of flavor and strong retention of natural acids. The same plant material has been used and constantly refined over the last 25 years. Kistler Pinot Noir vineyards typically yield 2.5 tons per acre.
Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is a multi-site wine Kistler farms several small block vineyards along the Laguna Ridge of the Russian River Valley and further west into the Sonoma Coast AVA. It often takes 10-15 years for Pinot Noir to manifest a vineyard’s full potential. In the interim, these Pinot Noir vineyards inform the two multi-vineyard Pinot Noir bottlings. The Sonoma Coast sites have an eye on proximity to the gaps in the coastal hills where cooler marine influences meter temperatures and ensure ripening with vibrant acids. Winemaking is gentle every step of the way
