Description
Buehler Vineyard Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2019
Buehler’s Russian River Chardonnay is sourced from two vineyards within the Russian River appellation: Wood Vineyard, located on River Road and River Vineyard, located in the heart of Sonoma’s Russian River Valley on East Side Road. Floral, mineral and lime aromas and steely structure from the River Vineyard are complemented by peach and apricot aromas and a more fleshy structure from the Wood Vineyard. The result? Abundant floral and stone fruit aromas lightly accented by toasty graham cracker tones. The mouthfeel is creamy, full and velvet-textured, but the natural acidity of the Russian River fruit carries through to a long, clean finish.
The winemaking philosophy at Buehler Vineyards has remained unchanged since the Russian River Chardonnay was introduced in 1993. For over a decade, the winery has opted to use minimal intervention when working with delicate varietals, like Chardonnay. Winemaking techniques including sur-lie aging, lees stirring, full malolactic fermentation, and the measured use of some new French oak are employed.
